Toxic aka poisonous. Much like the word itself, a toxic relationship is one that harms you emotionally and mentally. A healthy relationship is supposed to make you feel happy, cared for, supported and loved. A toxic relationship is the opposite of that. Just because a relationship starts off happy, doesn’t mean it can’t become toxic.

Be aware of the red flags in your relationship that tell you if it’s healthy or not. Sometimes, it’s easy to mistake these red flags as normal behaviour but it’s important to ask some key questions from time to time to protect yourself or a loved one from an unhealthy relationship.
